WE HAVE BEEN WORKING SO HARD

Since it has already been a while when we last updated I decided to update. Simple. As. A banana.

Our costume progress for these two:

is for me 0% and Poke gets 0.001% for already making one jewellery. haha.

well, we haven't been THAT lazy. Actually we already ordered our wigs! (do I get a per cent?)

Well, we have plenty of time -or so I thought. Tracon (held on 3th-4th of September) is our deadline (not a full costume deadline, I'll explain later) and my school begun last week and Poke will be back to school tomorrow. And what's more is that I have my matriculation exams on their way and I really need to study so I'm lacking some freetime! (matriculations are the final exams of finnish high school so I'm gonna graduate soon!)

SO with lack of time, wigs ordered a little too late, fabrics still in the store, costumes full of details, big wings on the back, no money..sounds impossible right?

But it isn't. I must grant that these costumes you see on the photo are way too expensive and intricate to be ready in a less than month but we have come up with the solution. It is called "make it simple". Literally it means that the costumes you're seeing are crusnik costumes for those two and they also have the more simple costumes. On those costumes there are no wings and the hair is down which saves some money and time! AND to make this plan sound even better we are able to modify these costumes into that crusnik mode! *insert awesome face*

After writing this, I feel hopeful and have made a plan for my costume! So I guess I can increase my score a little and say that my costume is 10% ready! (wig) and Poke is like..10.001% ready!

To add a little more to my self-praising I can say that we worked very hard on this weekend and earned some money:D

I guess this costume is going to be ready before Tracon..believe it or not!

So, I was studying and Poke was doing some school stuff too and I was searching a word from my dictionary and somehow managed to find the words "en ruttna fisk" (transl. a rotten fish) and started to laugh so hard that I almost fell from my chair. Then Poke asked me what am I laughing for and then we laughed together until we couldn't breath. Tired, what?

ok, this is definately no tutorial.

just some things that I think every cosplayer should own..or atleast think of owning them someday :D

Here are some basics.

-hot glue gun.


I just looooove hot glue gun! you can do so much cool stuff with it!
You can make stuff like little pearls and float desings out of it and even little jewellery...and of course melt plastic stuff. and use it as a glue lol.

OK, then there is a sewing machine!



I don't really need to explain what is this for do I?

(right answer: for sewing!)

and that sewing machine is liek da cutest eveeerrrr!!!

Then..I would say a computer. and scissors. and pins. a lot of pins.

-Imagination. That's the most important tool for cosplayer!

-A lot of little stuff someone would throw away...like pieces of mattresses, coins, plastic parts, broken feather pillows.....

And now, my favourite:

..Sewing dummy!




It makes cosplay a lot easier! especially if you don't have friend helping you around, it makes fitting so much easier!
It can be quite expensive but it's worth it!! and you can also make real clothes with it! like no-cosplay-clothes!

You can also make patterns with it (atleast I do all of my patterns with it..)

and not to mention, when you feel lonely you can always hug her..







Ok, there is still a plenty of things I think every cosplayer should have but oh, Ima think that later!

♫ I BELIEVE I CAN'T FLY ♪

Today we're going to have a photoshoot (in two hours I guess) so before wearing my newest costume (Nill, DOGS) I will tell you how it's done.

Well the dress is so simple and the blonde wig I have is just curled so they were not a problem. The actual pain in the ass were the wings.

Here is a little tutorial:

What do you need: (no pic this time, I forgot to take it:d)

- Feathers (bigger ones and tiny ones)
- Strong wire (I used an old, crappy hanger)
- Glue (wood glue was good, but I think that also decorating glue would do)
- Cardboard
- White (or whatever is the color of your wings) fabric
- Thread and a needle
- Strong tape (duct tape or some other stuff)
- piece of cushion (or something else to make them comfortable)
- String for the braces

So, at first you need to take the wire and shape it into something like this:



In this picture I've already composed some cushion there to be sewn.



Then I cut some cardboard to get them into wing shape. After doing that I covered them with fabric (second pic) and yes, I did use the covers of an old Phone book, just need to be creative!




The next step was a real killer. I had to cut all my feathers into a nice shape and then compose them into the wing.After composing them I marked each place carefully with a marker and then glued them. After attaching the bigger feathers I attached the littler ones and voila, the wings were done. Some pictures:






Then I took some string and made these straps. Here they are:



While I was doing these wings Poke was like "haha, you must be frustrated haha you look so annoyed hahaha IS THAT FUN? OH I FORGOT NO!" so this is for you Poke:



This is your next character right? What do we see in his back? THREE BIG PAIRS OF WINGS! now who's laughing? haha. *coolface*

Poke has already started this cosplay by making this cross (or whatever it is) out of sculpting mass:



Now I will start getting ready for the shoot...but first I will have to try one thing. *wears her wings and goes out to jump out from a tree* OUCH! I thought I could fly with my wings *sadface*

Soooo.

I decided to update!!!!!

yay me!!!

I should be sleeping already since we are leaving to Iisalmi tomorrow morning but oh, I rather do some cosplay plans!!

Right now I'm looking forward to Cain Nightroad
I love his costume and I really like his personality and costume is difficult enough not to be done in few days...




I guess I will start with the armors because I've wanted to try doing them for so long!

Costume itself won't be hard to sew...but those little details and stuff. They. Are. Pain. In. The. Ass.

Not to talk about all those wings....gosh.

BTW, talking about the wings, we are about to do a wing tutorial! (but Imma let momo deal with that since they are her wings :D)

...back to cain.

Cain will not be seen quite yet because it takes a lot of time and stuff.

So I have another project!!! WEEHEEEEEEE

....oh crap.

I don't have anything else coming.

oh well, I'll figure out if there's any nice characters to do on short notice.. ;D
