NÄRCON COUNTDOWN: 1 WEEK!

Kära damer och herrar,

As you might already know we are going to make one of our dreams come true and travel all the way to Linköping, Sweden for 6 days (4 of which in Närcon ). I've always wanted to see how the world of cosplay looks from another point of view and now I am actually going to find out:D 

Since we are leaving in a week I planned to update our cosplay plans for Närcon! We are actually meeting our fellow cosplayer bro Hisi this Friday to lock up our plans so the cosplay plans might as well change!

On Thursday we will be cosplaying the lovely triplets from Kuroshitsuji! The costumes are basically done but there's still some fixing to do with the shoes and we should also get new shirts...but they are...ok

On Friday and Saturday we will go all bleached (or Poke will be blacked up *badumtsss*) and wear our Bleach costumes (Orihime, Tousen, Starrk/ Arrancar) I need to change the lining from my Orihime gown, Starrk's sword should be made and everyone's shoes should be made..oopsie

On Sunday we will cosplay as Hattifattener (or in finnish hattivatti) and yes, that's a real word! In case you're not familiar with them, here you go:

For what we are working on right now is Poke's Iron man costume (which she may will or will not get ready) and I'm supposed to cosplay as Black widow but since I'm working I really don't have time to do that costume!We'll see! The costume should be finished by Friday/Saturday when a convention called Finncon is held here in Tampere! I don't know If we really like that con or not but it can't be that bad!!

However, the Hattifatter costumes are far beyond ready: Unstarted

AAAND it's 2:23 am so I should be going to sleep:D

SWORDS AND WIP

Hello our  precious readers!

This is just a short post about Kaname Tousen's sword, since I'm on philosophy class and I shoould be studying!

Momo is soo jelly because her character has no SWORD! OR ANY OTHER COOL PROP!!!

She only has some lame magic powers...LAAAMMMMEEEEE

off to the tuto.

At first I cut the shape out of thin wood.
Then I managed to find some thicker wood and made the handle out of two pieces of wood, and made it look a bit nicer with sand paper.
Before attaching the handle, I cut and made holes to handlecover?? W/e the part thats between the blade and handle!!216*&%#%/
Then I just simply attached the parts together and made the blade look like a blade. Simple as fuck.

Btw.the handle strings sucks hard. Gotta redo dat.

I still need to paint it and cover the blade cover with fabric.

Hello again our fruits and vegetables!

I decided to update since we had this awesome convention last weekend!!

Tampere kuplii is a comic-convention, so basically cosplay isn't the main part of the event.

They have this small cosplay competition and small shopping area, but as I said, it's not a cosplay convention.

Anygays.

On first day we had our awesome Anohana-cosplay group! Even though we were out of Menma (though she was there all along, you just couldn't see her)and Poppo, we managed to have a decent group n__n

We had some photoshoot! It was really nice taking pictures and to get to know our fellow cosplayer Shizuku, who was cosplaying Jintan. And I give some credit to our photographer plasticgay  who's in charge of group photos:)

And not to mention our almost-banana-fruitish-hottie-fellow-hisi, who was our dear Yukiatsu.

I was cosplaying Anaru and Momo was Tsuruko.

I haven't yet received them pictures but atleast I have these few that were taken with my camera :)

On sunday we were cosplaying badou and haine but no pictures were taken much..and we only kept them on like few hours and changed into other costumes

Haine found his jetpack, when he had nothing to do here.

Momo and I changed into normal clothes...or momo did..my costume was something cosplay alike...

ANNOUNCEMENTS & COSTUMES

Hola!

Today I got some mail from a person who works for Tracon AAAND...

I can now announce that we'll be hosting a panel! I knew this earlier but it was only today that I got the confirmation:)

I'm not revealing what panel is it going to be but you'll be informed as soon as we think it's the right time:D

I can guarantee that it's worth attending! SO if you're coming to Tracon, feel free to come and see the crazy stuff we'll come up with! (or at least, you can hear some of those priceless jokes of ours)

AND what comes to cosplay:

Our costumes for Tampere kuplii (starting the day after tomorrow) are nearly ready

Poke needs to fix her wig, paint her shoes, make those star shaped hair thingys, get the thingy in Naruko's wrist, sew the bow tie aand the pins in her hair of course!

Guess what Poke?



I mean, you've got only 1,5 days!



Yeah. I only need to sew my vest's buttonholes (OH MY GOD THAT WORD IS JUST RUDE)/or velcroes, attach the school badge, fix the wig a little (just style it a bit) and cut some threads and of course ironing the whole thing!

Now I'm supposed to go and collect ALL the laundry:( So much work!

THEM EYEGLASSES

Hello again our lovely readers! (updating so soon!)

Today I'm actually going to write about something cosplay related and even make a tutorial!

Today's tutorial is focused on Tsuruko's eyeglasses that were nearly impossible to find!

Because I was lazy and a little scrooge I just bought a pair of eyeglasses that only cost me 3,90 euros! Genious!

I also bought the fabric and shoes for this costume (fabric 14,5€ from Eurokangas, shoes 3€ from flea market) Veeeery cheap again! (cheap is always good)

SO back to the eyeglasses!

The obligatory what you will need list:

- A pair of eyeglasses

- Buffer file

- Nail file (or just replace them both with sandpaper, I was too lazy to try and find some)

- Super glue (or nail glue, if you happen to own a bottle, I used it!)

- Nail polish

- PATIENCE

1. Remove the lenses from the glasses, they should get off quite easily. Unless you really need reading glasses I suggest that you buy the ones with the intensity of 1+ (of course in my case, it makes me even more blind but who cares)

2. Cut off the extra part

3. File the cutting marks off and use buffer to file the glasses all over - otherwise the paint may fall off

4. If your glasses are black, use a nailpolish that is light and covers well - the color doesn't really matter, this is only a bottom layer

5. Once the bottom layer is dry (REALLY DRY) take the red nailpolish and paint the glasses with at least two layers of polish

6. Let dry....if possible overnight!

7. Use the glue to attach the lenses back on their places by pressing them firmly.

8. Let the glue dry properly before trying - otherwise your eyes will hurt (not that I know something about it..*ahem*)

COSPLAY PROGRESS

Hello our marvellous readers

You know what? I actually did something for my costume!

It is now ready(....ish) YAY

wait.

Cancel the yay.

It is not ready at all! I haven't even bought the fabric or shoes or eyeglasses.

So far I've only styled the wig.

Well then there's always Poke. Poke who's got it almost done.

Yes. I stole this from her IG profile. Looks ready?

It is actually quite ready.

It means that I need to work work and work to finish this costume!

I'm gonna go and buy the fabric today once I finish my chili-chocolate coffee with too much chili on it.

Someone motivate me with this costume!!!

I promise to make a tutorial of the eyeglasses since they require some work.

COSPLAY PLANS IT IS

First off, I'm sorry for updating again (not that this was too often but..) I promise that Poke will update this blog as soon as she has time. I just happen to have all the time in the world nowadays since I don't go to school:D She is still alive, someone just needs to keep up with our blog since I don't want to let it die once again:D

So please bear with my bad jokes and for a while! Poke will be back as soon as possible!

Ever since we left Desucon Frostbite we've been kind of having a little break from cosplay. Now, as Tampere kuplii is coming closer and closer we are actually starting to do something in time? (like a week before? blehh - too early)

Our Tampere kuplii costumes are actually quite easy and the wigs can already be found from our wig rack yet they really need some styling .. If you have forgotten they are these two lovely ladies from Ano Hana:

Poke's outfit is different though but as you see from the image - very simple!!

The redhead is Anaru (Poke) and the black headed one is Tsuruko (me!)

Since these two are so freakin' simple and easy we also took another costume to our list:

These three hotties are Souji, Hijikata and Saitou from Hakuoki! I'm going to cosplay Hijikata (the one in the middle) and Poke is going to get Saikou (the blondeish one yet the picture lies and he really has quite darker hair?)

They are the ongoing projects right now:D Of course we have some freaky plans inside our heads that aren't to be revealed quite yet:DDD

I've also been planning (Poke doesn't know about this..) of making a few CMV's/Cosplay skits! I have tons of ideas circling inside my head! I just need some actors!We live in Tampere, Finland so we'd shoot somewhere around I guess? I don't know about the series yet but almost any serie would fit in my plans! If you're interested feel free to comment and let's go further with my plans?

I guess I'm also going inactive quite soon since I have my entrance examinations and I should actually study:DD (like I did?)
