MERRY CHRISTMAS AND STUFF!

I will start with the oh, so familiar SORRY WE HAVEN'T BEEN UPDATING :(

and oh yeah, HELLO!!!!!

Now here comes the big news...get ready...WE HAVE BEEN ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING!!!

and before anyone comes up with the pic or didn't happen....WE EVEN HAVE SOME PICTURES!!!

So we have made some progress with our cosplays, Cain and Abel wings are almost done (and by almost I really mean almost)

Wingspan is about 2 meters and length is little over 3 meters :D so they are HUGE.

Here is me with the wings on (or WING on, because by the time that picture was taken, I only had done one wing..) AND I'M TERRIBLY SORRY WITH MY LOOKS!!!

I'm sooo sorry we haven't been updating for a while but we've been so busy!


I had this play, Kani Kani, and it took pretty much every single minute of my time during the last few weeks :(

but if it comforts you at all, It was great. Acting and theatre is so close to my heart<3

AND WE HAVE SOME NEW COSPLAY PLANS!!

Since there's two days in the con, we're having two costumes!

on first day we will cosplay as Cain and Abel as you very well knew :D

but on the second day we will be cosplaying...*rums*...KUROSHITSUJI TRIPLET SERVANTS!


but thete are three of them and there's only two of us...so will we make a doll or hologram or..

no. We have an honour to be accompanied by Hisi, our fellow cosplayer friend!

Since the costumes are quite easy to make we have almost done alread..BULLSHIT!

We haven't ordered the wigs yet. Or thought about the pants.

But what we do have, is shoes and vest patterns. And fabrics lol.

so we're on to it.

COOKING COSPLAYPLANS AND STATISTICS

Hello again our precious readers!

Though I'm not sure if we even have them since we only get comments once in a blue moon but then again this page has been viewed over 1500 times and 416 out of it this month which is just awesome! And today there's been 9 stalkers already :o (and no it doesn't count me updating the page 5 times per second:D) What's even more interesting is that not all of them are finnish! we have a very international range of readers (USA, Russia,Brazil..) and that's even more cool.

It was actually quite fun to take a look at our statistics. Then there were some really nonsense facts like that our blog is mostly browsed via Mozilla Firefox and that 4% of our views is done by Macintosh...cooooool. Yeah.

I could actually reveal our next project! I have watched kuroshitsuji for long and we needed an easy and semi-cheap costume for Desucon Frostbite and this is just awesome since it's probably gonna be quite comfortable. Since there are three of them, we have a friend called Hisi to be Timber (the one in the middle) and I'm gonna be Canterbury and Poke will be Thompson:) As you see they are tripletsbut since we are twins and Hisi is approximately as tall as we are, we'll manage!

I'm sorry if thepicture is too big, I tried to choose a small one but blogger loves me so...:(

Now I'm going to pet our dog and wait 'till poke arrives from school and then we are going to the car school and start it as soon as possible (next week). We will warn you before our driving lessons so you can go to the bomb shelters in time:)

BANANAS CAN'T DO IT

Ladies and gentlemen,

Today we have gathered here to read this completely nonsense blog entry written by an insomniac called Momo.

Right now it's 2.12 am in Finland and I'm lying on my bed. Since I've already played angry birds, brushed my hair and put some conditioner,removed the makeup, brushed my teeth (poke didn't do that! U lazy ass bi...bison) and lost my nerves with mahjong, I thought it would be a great idea to update our precious blog. (and otherwise I'd probably end up on my laptop to play runescape...wait)

The headline of this blog actually refers to one thing: this blog. Right now you're probably thinking that I'd say we will stop or etc but you can cancel the party (or invite us too!) We won't stop. The point is that we actually struggle on keeping these entries cosplay related.

However I thought it over and arrived to the conclusion that this is our blog and as long as we like to update this it really isn't  that important whether it's only related to cosplay or not.

I mean, I do love cosplay and poke does too but that isn't all we have in this life!

To make my last argument invalid I will announce that we have a new plan! I won't tell you more yet but it's gonna be awesome! I reveal that it's related to kuroshitsuji and not Ciel, Sebastian or Alois..haha:D

When making a cosplay plan the worst mistake is to decide too many cosplays for one year. I and poke have a rule that there should be no more than three cosplays for one season. And max. Two to be on progress. This method makes our cosplay hobby much more easy and stress free (cosplay is never stress free!) Besides, when you're only working on one or two costumes, you will have more resources and money to make them better.

of course this is our method only and everyone needs to find their own methods to succeed:)

WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO...

Tallin!

This is an extempore trip that we managed to arrange. We travel with a group of six people who are not really related to cosplay (except naru) However one girl of our group told us that she is a fan of our blog and is now disappointed 'cause we haven't been updating that much.Bad momo and poke *deathly stare*

Anyway, we are now sitting on a cafeteria and waiting for our bus to leave (or our laziness to end)

Yay. now it's probably been like 2 hours and we're on a board! I can't wait until we reach tallin and the cheap fabric stores. Someone said that you can also buy some wigs but I don't really buy it.

*realizes that the ship moves* I think I need to stop before we reach the border and my internet connection closes down. We will update after our trip (or when we find a wi-fi spot?)

We were cooking some apple pie so we can update our food blog (or even start it..) and thought that we should probably update? But we haz nothin' to tellz?

Let's make it simple.

We are lazy. As hell.

But for our record we have a reason to not have updated anything for a while. Camera.
Poke's camera and computer haven't really been co-operating lately. Because of that we haven't been able to have any tutorial/WIP pictures:( [despite the fact that we don't really have them inside the camera]

As you already know we have been working on the Trinity Blood cosplays for Desucon Frostbite and we are..well, almost ready  *suspicious face*..not. However, we have decided to do some other cosplays as well, since the costumes are pretty complicated to wear and stuff. Yeah. (the obligatory yeah)

We are trying to find some female or male characters whom we can cosplay without ordering new wigs. Those cosplays should be easy to wear and cheap to do.

...Like there would be any cheap cosplays *phew*. Yet we'll end up doing some epic full-motorised mechas or 947787689274 meter long swords with led lights and flame throwers.

Wouldn't that be awesome!! *momo's deathly stare*

We thought some VERY easy cosplay would do. And we came up with these lovely ideas:

Since my math lesson turned out to be the most boring lesson in history I decided to update. Since Poke has updated ca.4 last times I thought it is finally my turn!!

First of all I'm awfully sorry that I don't have much pictures and that this app always puts them in the end of the entry. Just...live with it (or die, I don't care:3)

To make this entry cosplay related and senseful since I always tell Poke not to update those nonsense entries about strange stuff, I will announce that our tix for Desucon Frostbite (held on January 2012) have arrived and I'm super excited!!

Our cosplays are going to be awesome but I will remain quiet about the details of how we succeed because an artist doesn't reveal one's secrets. Ok, of course we are gonna upload some WIPs. It's just that we haven't even started...(or have we?)

BORING HISTORY LESSONS AND MORNING GOOD MORNING

Hello everyone! once again it's time to write some total nonsense.

well, not total nonsense, since this is a cosplay blog and I'm going to tell you about my cosplay situation.

So as you know, I'm still working on Cain Nightroad though I have already used it once....but it doesn't mean it's ready does it?
I'm looking forward to his wings, I've never done wings before, but it's all written in my head, how to glue all the feathers and how to attach all the leds and....oh yeah! how to attach leds, by leds, I mean led lights.

ok, enough of that epic glowing wings shit.

I suppose we'll have to buy christmas lights, since they are cheap, and theres many of them in one packet :0

Don't you just hate when morning doesn't go as you planned?

this is my story about this morning, nothing to do with cosplay though, but fail enough to be shared with you my fellow readers.

So. Practically, it's still morning. so more fail is still possible. it's 8.30 right now :(

oh well, here we go.

so it all started yesterday, I was colouring my hair, bright blond as it was promised in the yellow packet of peroxides and poisons. Well, bright it is...blond...not. so it turned out to be bright yellow and hooray, I literally look like banana for now. After the screaming sunflower moment, I decided to try if silver shampoo would make it any less sunflowerish but oh, the blond highlites I had had before the poison bottle, turned into platinum blond, but the rest of the hair...still golden as sun.

so the morning came.

when I woke up, late as hell, the first thing I saw was....a mirror. Some odd girl with sunflowerfield on her head stared at me, it took like 15 minutes to realise it was me, just the hair was still odd. Well, since I couldn't ripen the flowers in my head, I just tied it up, so the blond highlights would cover the most yellow..and I put a huge flower (not sunflower though.) to gain attention  so no-one would think my hair, but the flower. Sounds sneaky ha?

Well, off to bus stop, and off to coffee house.

coffee house. Epic fail house more likely. My mouth wasn't listening to my brain, so I ordered moccachino as usual though I had planned to order cafe mocca and croissant :( so no croissant for me :((((

well, there I was, stepping into the bus and trying to relax. And as usually I was doing my makeup during the bus trip. I shouldn't have done that, if the hair and the coffee house wasn't fail enough, I somehow managed to drop my eyeshadow palette, and it flew nicely all the way to the bus floor, quite far from where I was sitting and crashed into million little pieces...

but there's still more fail...

I was just finished doing my make up, when I refailed with my coffee ( which was too sweet btw) and managed to throw it all over my face!!!  And I had_just_finished_my_makeup!!!77111 and haha ha. By that time I was already so close to our school, that I didn't have time to fix it!

so there I was 5 minutes late, arriving to my history lesson, face all red, hair all yellow, and jacket all coffeed up.

that was my story.

COSPLAY, Y U NO CHEAP?!

I'm currently having a swedish lesson and this is a,way too boring so I thought I should like..update?

I thought over many issues and bang! It hit me. I will write about something that crosses my (and every cosplayer's) mind a lot. Which means that the topic of this blog will be *drums* money.

Whether you cosplay a robot or one of those bikinigirls it will never be free. Mostly we finally tend to choose characters with 5-layered wedding dress and 6-meter tall sword and platforms -and mostly we end up realizing that it's gonna cost an arm and leg.

One cosplay will cost from 25 to 500 euros on average. (like 25 was ever enough...*sets a few flies free from wallet*) of course it depends on what is your character but the fact is,that everything costs money.

Due to the fact that cosplay is expensive, I'm gonna tell you how to spare some money (or how we do it)

1. Fabric. If your costume is black, you will find dozens of options from 5 to 195 euros a meter. What should be taken into consideration is how shiny and thick the fabric actually is. The most expensive one is probably not the best (at least your wallet thinks that) whereas the cheapest one is probably neither that good. Of course it's always tempting when you see a fabric that costs only 3.99 a meter and a thought of being a scrooge crosses your mind. You tend to think that "it doesn't really matter if this has some glitter on it..or those flowers.." (that wasn't my way of thinking..no way) My advice is to spend an hour or two in a fabric store and finally find the one you're looking for (at this point, you probably don't give a shit what it costs)

2. Ebay. It doesn't matter whether it's the wig or shoes or some material, you'll most likely get it from ebay. If you choose free shipping and buy it now, you'll get the prices straight! Easy as a fu...silli. I recommend a seller called wigglamour, fast shipping, low prices! I can always trust on them (all of our wigs except suigetsu and sasuke are from wigglamour) they also have a very high quality kanekalons and thick wigs w/ heat resistance. *advertiser momo is back*
The point is that ebay is cheap, buy everything from there.

3.accomodation and travelling to conventions. This is the funny part of cosplay. The cheapest way of travelling is by car with friends. Fuel costs divided into 5 are usually very low! Of course there are buses and trains if you don't happen to have a car..
Accomodation is another drag. You can always try and get a free sleeping place from a friend but they rarely have space or live around. Then there are the school accommodations that cost around 7 euros a night. They are nice places to meet new people but usually they suck if you happen to have costume that is a little cpmplicated, it is uprageous to try and do it with 98 others and one mirror. The basic night on school accommodation involves snoring animegirls, crazy hetalists and an unconfortable bed. That's when we move to hotels and hostels, where you will get an own shower, bed, wc,fridge and a good night sleep. The only problem is the price so if you want to go cheap, pack a tent;)

To conclude, the best way of sparing money is to cosplay characters like the ones below, sleep in tents or train stations, walk to the conventions and buy that glitter fabric. Or more, you can always photoshop the costumes on you and watch con videos, for free!

WE HAVE BEEN WORKING SO HARD

Since it has already been a while when we last updated I decided to update. Simple. As. A banana.

well, we haven't been THAT lazy. Actually we already ordered our wigs! (do I get a per cent?)

Well, we have plenty of time -or so I thought. Tracon (held on 3th-4th of September) is our deadline (not a full costume deadline, I'll explain later) and my school begun last week and Poke will be back to school tomorrow. And what's more is that I have my matriculation exams on their way and I really need to study so I'm lacking some freetime! (matriculations are the final exams of finnish high school so I'm gonna graduate soon!)

SO with lack of time, wigs ordered a little too late, fabrics still in the store, costumes full of details, big wings on the back, no money..sounds impossible right?

But it isn't. I must grant that these costumes you see on the photo are way too expensive and intricate to be ready in a less than month but we have come up with the solution. It is called "make it simple". Literally it means that the costumes you're seeing are crusnik costumes for those two and they also have the more simple costumes. On those costumes there are no wings and the hair is down which saves some money and time! AND to make this plan sound even better we are able to modify these costumes into that crusnik mode! *insert awesome face*

After writing this, I feel hopeful and have made a plan for my costume! So I guess I can increase my score a little and say that my costume is 10% ready! (wig) and Poke is like..10.001% ready!

To add a little more to my self-praising I can say that we worked very hard on this weekend and earned some money:D

I guess this costume is going to be ready before Tracon..believe it or not!

So, I was studying and Poke was doing some school stuff too and I was searching a word from my dictionary and somehow managed to find the words "en ruttna fisk" (transl. a rotten fish) and started to laugh so hard that I almost fell from my chair. Then Poke asked me what am I laughing for and then we laughed together until we couldn't breath. Tired, what?

just some things that I think every cosplayer should own..or atleast think of owning them someday :D

Here are some basics.

-hot glue gun.


I just looooove hot glue gun! you can do so much cool stuff with it!
You can make stuff like little pearls and float desings out of it and even little jewellery...and of course melt plastic stuff. and use it as a glue lol.

OK, then there is a sewing machine!



I don't really need to explain what is this for do I?

(right answer: for sewing!)

and that sewing machine is liek da cutest eveeerrrr!!!

Then..I would say a computer. and scissors. and pins. a lot of pins.

-Imagination. That's the most important tool for cosplayer!

-A lot of little stuff someone would throw away...like pieces of mattresses, coins, plastic parts, broken feather pillows.....

And now, my favourite:

..Sewing dummy!




It makes cosplay a lot easier! especially if you don't have friend helping you around, it makes fitting so much easier!
It can be quite expensive but it's worth it!! and you can also make real clothes with it! like no-cosplay-clothes!

You can also make patterns with it (atleast I do all of my patterns with it..)

and not to mention, when you feel lonely you can always hug her..
